Coming to Melbourne with your kids anytime soon? Then you must be interested in trying to find things to do in Melbourne with kids. Luckily Melbourne is loaded with attractions and activivites that kids love to do on a trip. Traveling is a great way to spend time and bond as a family. In this article you will get a good feel for some Melbourne tourist attractions especially great for kids.

Things to Do in Melbourne with Kids #1: Melbourne Aquarium

First of, we take a trip to the Melbourne Aquarium in the heart of Melbourne. It is designed to look like a moored ship. Tell your kids that majority of the building’s structure is actually lying about 20 meters below the surface and you definitely won’t be able to say no to them in visiting the place. Going inside the building, you will be able to meet four interesting levels where you can guide yourself through for a tour. On the first level, you will see creepy caves, rock pools, mangroves and billabongs on your tour. On the ground floor there are giant crabs and sea dragons and there are also views of sea jellies, Japanese spider crabs, and corals. Level B-1 will get you to an area where the children can play and get a glimpse of the famous Octopus while Level B-2 will get you to the shark conservation area, animal nursery, and fish bowl. Show your kids how brave you are by suiting up and diving in with the sharks in the Melbourne aquarium. If you do not want to get wet though, you can always stay dry by taking a tour at the glass bottom boat where you can see the Marina life. Do not leave yet until your kids see the professional divers feed the sharks since this is one of the activities most kids would look forward to.

Things to Do in Melbourne with Kids #2: Puffing Billy

Second, take your family to the famous Puffing Billy steam train in the Dandenongs, in the south-east of Melbourne. Your kids will love the trip which will start from the Puffing Billy station going through the Dandenong Ranges, where you would see remains of an old gold-mining town before you make your stop in Emerald Lake Park which is made popular by its very relaxing settings and the two beautiful lakes. It is a great ride.

Things to Do in Melbourne with Kids #3: Melbourne Museum

The third stop you should make is at the Melbourne Museum which is located in the Carlton Gardens. This museum is considered to be the largest one to date in the Southern Hemisphere considering that it was built last 1854. Since its inception though, the structure continues to grow with so many additional improvements being added periodically. From theatres, foods, tours, to 3D documentary films your kids will surely love the experience aside from being educational that you would definitely spend a few hours there. The kids section is well developed and very entertaining.

Things to Do in Melbourne with Kids #4: Melbourne River Cruise

After your trips to the famous attractions in Melbourne, have a relaxing dinner while you are enjoying a river cruise. There are a lot of tourist boats or vessels available in the river of Melbourne, the Yarra, that can take you for a joy ride.

These things to do in Melbourne with kids should help you find some entertainment for the kids in between all the shopping you want to do and the galeries and museums you will want to visit. I hope these more Melbourne tourist attractions for kids help make your Melbourne holiday an absolute success.
