It’s well into the first day of the new year, and these Amish kids were playing outside their school with some light snow flurries blowing around out there.

Part holiday card, part “death star” homage, this year’s collection of kid pics was initially inspired by zero g’s popular "Star Wars" collage.

I started out messing around with some of last year’s pics and pulling groups of them together. I didn’t want the resolution to be limiting and before long had stitched together about 150 images in a huge 6×6 mosaic using about active 75 layers. (No offense intended to the friends/family diminished and/or skewed near the edges of the sphere.)

The ultraviolet image of the Sun comes from the TRACE Observatory. The Earth was downloaded from NASA’s spectacular Blue Marble mosaic. The sphere effect results from a simple Adobe CS3/photoshop filter.

That’s me with the knife. I still have the two beach towels around the kid’s shoulders on the right. :-) I think those were Major Matt Mason characters on the cake.

sorry kid. your mom doesn’t love you. that’s why she gave you your big sister’s 7 year old jacket to wear as a dress. if you were important to her she would buy you fur-lined boots and insulated asswriting pants. i feel sorry for you.

Question by Answers: How do I get my kids home schooled?
As the question states, I would like my kids to be home schooled. I would like to get their school manuals and everything we need to get things started, but I have no idea where to look. This would be for all of high school.

Can anyone tell me where I could get information on this?

Try looking at your state’s board of education website. Usually just going to your state’s home page, there should be a link somewhere for the school board of education. They should have all the requirements and info needed there to get you started, or at least have some kind of a number to refer you to.
