Happy New Year Cindy! It’s so good to see kids playing outside. I doubt the Amish have problems with obesity. Thanks for sharing, I love your rural shots.

An instant fave! Ny compliments on this memorable image.
October 6, 2011, 5:57 pmHow do the Amish children get to school? Do they ride motorized buses or go via horse-drawn vehicles?
cindy47452 says:
They walk, and sometimes they walk a couple of miles. At the end of the day, they walk back home. It’s amazing.

I see some pretty fat amish around here! They have some pretty nice siding on that school, most of the ones around here dont use that type of siding.

They’re taking it better than I am, that’s for sure! It started out about 25 degrees today, and just got colder all day. Add the wind and the stupid snow flurries in and it’s just a cold winter day in Indiana. I guess the Amish don’t celebrate the New Year since these young’ens were in school today.

Thank you all. I love to catch the kids out playing like this. I was on a road above them, and they didn’t even notice me.

What a great way to start the new year! I am always fascinated by the Amish. I’d hate to even have to think about an outhouse when it’s 20 degrees….. brrrrrrrr!!

Love this shot of the playing kids. I haven’t seen too often pictures of Amish; so, this one is interesting and beautiful as well. (FAV forme!)
Have a great day.
