Question by Lisa: What movie woould you reccomend 4 kids to watch themselves at a theater?
Its in South Brunswick NJ, Regal 18 or Lowe’s
They kids ages are:

10,11,11,11
My daughters in sixth grade (10), and her friends are too, (11)

Fly me to the moon is not in NJ theaters yet, I dont think its in South Brunswick yet.

WALLE is still in theaters, How about Sisterhood of the traveling pants?
Is that a good movie, my kid has the whole series, and LOVED the book, I never read it, or even saw the commercail.

I’ve heard good things about Wall-E.
I didn’t see it myself but it looks really good. (I’m 16 and I’d like to see it – haha!)
It seems age-friendly. Why don’t you try that one?

Vintage Kids Apron/Pinafore from Sweden

A sketch of a vintage (sixties) kids apron or pinafore from Sweden. Lovely clear blue check fabric with a rounded ruffle on the hem, broad red bias tape. Ties on the back just above the waist with a button and closes at the back with a loop and bottom. Pocket on the front is the same fabric as the rest but checks are placed diagonally.Because I have to give back the original to my friend *snif* I thought I’d make a sketch (and share it) and make one for my daughter one day.

Question by rollindays: Fellow Americans: why are Asian kids closer to their parents than American kids?
When they’re kids, they resent the overprotection. But when they grow up, they realize it was for the best. They also like to see their families more than once a year (like our kids do) after college. They don’t want their parents to live in old shelter homes, & would love them to stay at their place. They aren’t affected by ‘invasion of privacy’ like our kids are. I’ve seen Asian kids change their lives drastically to accommodate their old parents in their lives. People leave jobs to look after their parents.

I love doing Kids rooms; but I’d be charging.

I am a parent and have a suggestion or two.

Initially GET THEM involved. Kids or all sizes; shapes; and colors; usually enjoy crayons. Give them some paper; alert them to the fact that YOU need THEIR help to decorate their room; and let them do PICS; then post them in the room. That notion can extend to other CRAFT ideas.

Even a YOUNG child wants their OWN sanctuary; their own PLACE and space. Without having them damage the room; allow them the notion of doing what they want. Toys; plush animals; construction paper and past murals; etc.

“WITHOUT BUYING” might be a “stretch” it’s the ANYTHING part that’s even more the stretch; unless; as a PARENT; you happen to have KID THINGS available already.

With all due respect; YOU know your “kids” better than WE do, and what you can or want to afford. Heck, if you don’t care let them do Ketchup and Mustard Murals. Give them the means and the motivation to BE INVOLVED. I promise you no matter what you or they do; the ideas will change pretty quickly.

Question by Jill P: What did your kids sleep in when they outgrew the sleep sacks?
My son is not even 8 months old and is already wearing 18-month clothes. He has outgrown those sleep sacks that are like wearable blankets. He thrashes around in his sleep (rolls over, crawls into the corners of the crib, etc), so he won’t stay tucked in under a blanket — what did you do with your kids to keep them warm at night after they couldn’t fit in the sleep sacks anymore? Thanks!

Remodeled Kids Room

I spent about 5 full days remodeling the kids room. Morgan and I (Matt) found several fun websites with some space-related themes. We got Disney’s "Buzz Lightyear" Behr Paint from Home Depot. All said, it cost almost 0 to complete the room but that included paint, wood trim, all new lighting, new Vinyl Dual-pane windows, and stucco finish on the outside. Obviously, we did the work ourselves…

I get the process for the adult store, you have to work in a store first, then they do castings from their store models.
But what about the kids store?
You have to be 18 to work in the store but those kids definitely aren’t 18.
I mean the kid models on the Abercrombie Kids aren’t 18. I’m wondering because those really are some talented kid models.

you normally have to find an agent to represent you and convince Abercrombie to hire you. As a model you can’t say “I want to model for this and this, but not that”. I have also heard that abercrombie models must be at least 5 feet 5 inches and at least 13 years old, usually they are older teens who just look younger. To get a modeling job it is usually better to find an agency instead because then they will match you with the jobs they think are best and will able to give you a better chance at being chosen. Good Luck

Hispanic Kids Playing Under American Flag

With all the controversy about Arizona’s immigration bill, I thought I’d post a photo I took today in central Phoenix of Hispanic boys playing along side a lake beneath the American flag in Steele Indian School Park – so named as it was the site of a boarding school where white Americans used to send Native American children in an attempt to eradicate their culture.

As I understand it, the wording in the bill would not allow the police to walk up to these two kids and ask them to prove they were citizens unless they were breaking a law.

This is a single shot HDR.

Question by ****: What causes some kids to be sent to a juvenile detention center?
I went to a juvenile detention center before to work and I wondered what the kids did for them to be sent there. Some of the kids look like good kids. I know one kid was selling his body to get a sex change, but what else can they have done to be sent there.
